Research and oral history volunteers
Location: mostly East London
Following on from the success of their previous project, Women Activists of East London, Share UK are embarking on a new phase of research that delves further into the history of East London’s rebel women. The non-profit organisation is seeking 15 volunteers to help explore local archives to unearth hidden histories especially around lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender women’s activism. Suffragette and trade union activism will also be looked at. No previous experience is necessary as full training will be provided by the Institute for Historical Research. You will also have the opportunity to be trained by the Oral History Society and conduct interviews with women activists and the descendants.
Deadline for applications is 5th November 2018
