This week volunteers came together to learn oral history interviewing skills, as part of the Kitchen Resistance project by Share UK, funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund. The training was run by Rib Davis, an affiliated Oral History Society Trainer.
The training was held at the unusual venue of Yonder, in Walthamstow, a climbing centre with a co-working space upstairs.
Now the volunteers are trained, they will conduct at least 15 interviews with women who have used food as a political tool. These interviews will be gathered by November 2025, and used alongside the archive research for a public education campaign.
