CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES
RESEARCH VOLUNTEERS (P/T flexible hours)
Would you like to help research the history of food poverty, and women’s responses to it? Would you like to help write a book on the subject in conjuncture with contemporary food bank users?
Then join our exciting new team of volunteers – no previous experience is necessary as full training is provided.
Share UK is a heritage and arts organisation based in East London. We’ve secured funding from the National Heritage Lottery Fund to conduct research on how women have responded to food poverty in the area, from 1870 to the present day. By joining our team you will:
– Learn how to use archives both on and offline
– Contribute to a publication that is part research report, part cook book
– Have the opportunity to develop oral history skills
– Join a friendly team of volunteers to work together on this important project
– And more …
Hours are flexible to fit your schedule. The only date required for attendance is Thursday 27th February for the training day in London. Travel expenses are provided.
