Beyond Medicine explores the a social history about pandemics, and women’s role within them. During any pandemic, stories of doctors and nurses battling on the frontline are numerous. What happens more quietly in communities is less well documented.

Yet in March 2020, people clearly mobilised across the country to support their neighbours. In many cases, those leaping into action were women.
