<p class="p1">Kitchen Resistance tells the story of how women have used food as a political tool over the last two centuries. Smashing the stereotype of the oppressed wife tied to the kitchen sink, these stories show how women have used their unique position in the home in quiet acts of resistance.</p>
<p class="p1">From the wet nurses who became the first foster carers in the 18<span class="s1"><sup>th</sup></span> century, saving the lives of thousands of babies; early 20<span class="s1"><sup>th</sup></span> century free school meals pioneers; women who fed the families of striking miners in the 80s; to those who run food banks and cooperatives to tackle hunger and greedflation in the current cost of living crisis.</p>
